Are you accepting new patients?

The team at Flash are welcoming new patients every day! Whether you’re looking for a dentist in Auckland or a ‘dentist near me,’ Flash Dental is here to serve all your dental needs.

Scheduling a dental appointment or emergency dentist visit is simple—just give us a call on 638 7927 or book online here.

Our team is committed to providing the best possible care for all our patients in a comfortable, safe, and friendly environment. Our goal is to ensure that all our patients have a positive experience with us.

How long does a typical appointment last at Flash Dental?

Appointments with Flash can vary depending on what you are coming in to see us for. A standard appointment can range from 30 minutes to 45. For a new patient examination we allow up to an hour. Following your initial examination our team will work with you to plan the appropriate amount of time for any future work you may need.

Our team of experienced dentists and hygienists work together to ensure that each patient receives the best possible care. We understand that many patients don’t want to be in the chair any longer than they have to so we try to provide quick yet effective service.

The team at Flash is commited to providing excellent care in a relaxed environment and we do not want our patients to feel like they are being rushed out the door.

What should I expect during my first visit?

On your first visit to Flash Dental, you can expect to be welcomed by our friendly team. We will then have you complete a digital form to update your contact information, medical history, etc.

Following this one or our experienced nurses will take you upstairs and introduce you to your new Dentist. This initial appointment is an hour so that you have plenty of time to ask any questions you may have and discuss your previous experiences at the dentist. We will then take photos, x-rays and come up with a treatment plan (if any) that works around your budget and your schedule.

Following your initial appointment with us one of our team members will check in with you to send you a digital copy of your treatment plan and to answer any additional questions you may have forgotten to ask.

We pride ourselves on providing you with personalised attention and care, as well as a comfortable and stress-free experience. We aim to get to know you better and ensure we understand your unique needs and concerns.

If you come to us with a dental emergency, we will do our best to prioritise your care.

We look forward to welcoming you and helping you to achieve optimal oral health.

How do you handle dental anxiety at Flash Dental?

We understand that dental anxiety can be a challenge to overcome, so we strive to provide a calming and supportive environment to help ease your worries. At Flash Dental, we offer IV sedation, which is administered through a vein in your arm or hand. This is not a sleep dose but it is designed to take away the anxiety you may be experiencing in relation to your appointment. Some people find that their memories of the appointment are limited. You will need to arrange to have a friend or family member pick you up from your appointment as you will be unable to drive for the rest of the day.

Our experienced and caring team members are highly trained to provide a comforting, safe atmosphere to reduce the stress of your visit. We strive to ensure that each patient feels secure and receives the highest quality dental care.

Prior to any sedation appointments we do require all patients to come in for a consultation so that you can meet us, update your medical history and discuss the treatment you are hoping to have done. This helps make the appointment run even smoother. You are welcome to bring a support person with you to any appointments. We also encouraged patients to consider bringing headphones so that they can listen to music or a podcast during their appointment.

What post-operative care measures do you recommend?

Immediately following any surgical procedure or emergency dental treatment, we recommend a variety of post-operative care measures. These are designed to ensure your  comfort and a smooth recovery.

Our post-operative care instructions may include:

  • Written and oral instructions for managing your specific concern
  • Medication/prescriptions
  • Follow-up appointments and phone calls

We understand that dental anxiety can be a major factor, so we strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the entire appointment. Our emergency dentist and team are trained to provide the highest quality of care and support so patients can feel relaxed while receiving the post-operative care they need.

We prioritise patient safety and satisfaction so that everyone can experience a successful and stress-free recovery. If during your recovery you have any concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team on 638 7927.

How can I learn more about oral health and preventive care?

At Flash Dental, we provide a wealth of resources for our clients to help them understand the importance of oral health – we even have an entire page on our website dedicated to this very topic which you can read here.

We encourage our patients to bring their tooth brush, floss or any other things they use in their homecare routine to their examination appointments so that we can review your current technique and make adjustments if needed.

Additionally, we offer:

  • Literature to read at home
  • Demonstrations of proper brushing and flossing techniques
  • Educational resources to help understand oral health and preventive care
  • Recommendations for products that are proven to be effective

We are passionate about helping our patients maintain good oral health and strive to provide the best service possible. If there is anything you feel we’re missing please don’t hesitate to let us know and we will try our best to accommodate you.
